Starting 2016, UYAF have included advisors and instructors from Georgia Institute of Technology and NASA to our judge panels that can play an essential role to all our application. We dedicate our focus on the applications to seek true talents, characteristics, and potentials. Judgment of your essays is also a critical component of our artists’ community.

Now, we invite you to Online Media Application Portfolio(OMAP) Hybrid online course at Georgia Institute of Technology!   We also recommend your professors, teachers, and outstanding individual to  serve as one of UYAF’s Judge Panels, Instructors and Guest Artists. We are proud to introduce our OMAP instructor, Dr. Robert Starr!

Hello, I’m your instructor, Dr. Robert Starr.

I am glad that you have signed on to be part of the first United Young Artist Foundation (UYAF) Online Media Application Portfolio (OMAP) Course. This course will prepare you to produce a video presentation that will, hopefully, lead to your winning scholarships, competitions, and educational opportunities. Sonia Yi, CEO and Founder of UYAF, and I believe that your special talents should be shared with the world. Presenting your skills, accomplishments, and life goals through media can greatly assist in displaying your unique personality and artistic abilities to those who can make a difference in your life.

I have been teaching media production for many years. First, as a high school English teacher, then as a college professor and founder of Independent Video Associates, a video production company in Virginia. I went on from there to serve as a media producer, graphic artist, web master, and educational project manager for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). I am retired now with a passion for helping students just like you make the best use of digital media tools so they can present themselves in the best possible light.

Because this is brand new course, students who sign up will be part of the development process. We are calling this our OMAP PILOT COURSE. That means we will be asking for your input about the course as you participate. Your feedback and productions will be used for further development of the course and examples to be viewed by future students.

I look forward to working with you on your journey to your star!
