UYAF  Co-Educational Volunteer:

All of our volunteer programs center around life-enhancing work projects for children, youth and their neighhoods. Our local leaders are adults from the host community who lend their assistance to local work projects which are not connected to or supported by specific religious or political groups.

If you have a specific interest in working with medical research programs and adults, you can select from a variety of programs in many locations around the world. All projects are selected and monitored to benefit the community at large. Teach both youth and adults conversational English as they prepare for work in the UYAF community. Repair community projects, or help with researching projects as you travel with UYAF teachers and mentors. Travel, explore cultures and learn to provide educational stimulus to students who hold the key to community’s history. Our program includes but it is not limited to organizing histories of cultures, assisting with research for administrative or clerical projects and providing computer training to local students. If you are a medical professional or want to be one, you can participate in our medical research programs which allow you to assist in patient examinations, provide prenatal care and provide numerous “hands-on” types of educational services to youth and adults.

Consultative Status with the United Nations, NYSCA and UNICEF

Consultative with United Nations: UYAF Co-Educational Volunteer programs were granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations in 2009.  This positions UYAF Co-Educational Volunteer programs to represent local leaders in an international arena, and to genuinely engage both short and long-term educational center development efforts for lasting results.

The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is responsible for promoting higher standards of living, education, employment, and economic and social progress; identifying solutions to international economic, social and health problems; facilitating international cultural and educational cooperation; and encouraging universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms.

We participate with United Nations agencies and programs to help meet the U.N. Millennium Development Goals, thereby ensuring the quality of childrens’ future by structuring educational surroundings worldwide.

NYSCA (NEA) and UNICEF:  UYAF Co-Educational Volunteer programs begin a relationship with NYSCA and UNICEF in 2009 as judge panels and consultative councils continue to mature on. As a permanent function of the United Nations system, UYAF sustains high-level services to promote the educational needs and well-being of children and youth worldwide. UYAF Co-Educational Volunteer programs are committed to work with UNICEF as a voice for at-risk children and their families in the host communities we serve, and to obtain valuable UNICEF support for our development worldwide.
